Happy new year!!! This January, Dan is thrilled to begin work as a teaching artist with the renowned Classic Stage Company in NYC!
Dan is Artistic Director of the theatre company, The Back Porch Players. This past summer he produced two plays in Houston, TX

“This was my first experience with The Back Porch Players, and I’m deeply impressed... thanks to the finely-honed skills of The Back Porch Players, it will be forever emblazoned not only in my mind, but in those of many Houston theater fans as well.”
-Theodore Bale, CultureMap
“The Back Porch Players broach the themes in irreverent comic fashion with an enjoyable mounting of God and Death”
-Everett Evans, Houston Chronicle
"Two rarely produced gems from a master provide an evening of comic irreverence and surprising insights that make for a perfect pairing. The run is short but the pleasure long -- see it if you can”
-Jim Tommaney, Houston Press

“The Back Porch Players gives Parks’s expressionistic tale a startling, sterling production.”
“Under the powerful sweep of David Rainey's direction, the exemplary cast combusts this play into life. Anchored by Garvey's piercing and woeful Hester, this is frighteningly superb theater.”
“With her raw, sharp-edged poetry, Parks slaps you, then kisses you wildly, while Garvey smashes the hurt right in your face. You stand stunned, not knowing how to respond. This isn’t life, this is potent, once-in-a-blue-moon theater.”
-D.L. Groover, Houston Press
